Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to buy a home in Howard County at a substantially reduced price. This exclusive opportunity to purchase a home is open to pre-qualified candidates via a lottery drawing to be held at the housing fair event. Candidates must pre-apply for the lottery drawing, submit all required paperwork by 5:00pm, April 6, 2015 and be present at the event on April 11th to be eligible to win.

Applicants must pre-register for the drawing and submit all required paperwork by 5:00 pm on April 6, 2015, and be present at the event on April 11, 2015, to be eligible to win. **Important** If you have previously applied for a housing lottery or the MIHU program, you must complete a separate application for the housing lottery at the Housing Fair on April 11, 2015. You are not automatically included in this drawing. Likewise, if you apply for the Housing Fair lottery, you will not be included in future MIHU lotteries unless you complete a separate application for the MIHU program during an open enrollment period.
Enrollment periods for the MIHU homeownership program are open four times per year – January, April, July and October. MIHU rentals are available year round on a first come, first serve basis. MIHUs are sold or rented at affordable prices and rents set by the Department of Housing and Community Development. Any person or family can apply to buy or rent an MIHU provided their household income does not exceed the maximums listed on the application. Click here for more information.
