More Information about the MIHU Program
Through the Moderate Income Housing Unit Program and Neighborhood Conservation Initiative grant funds from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, you have the opportunity to buy either a newly renovated home, or newly constructed townhome in Howard County at remarkably low prices well below market rate!
Anyone wishing to purchase an MIHU home must fill out an application form during one of the four open enrollment periods held throughout the year – January, April, July and October. MIHU rentals are available throughout the year. MIHUs are sold or rented through the Department of Housing & Community Development at affordable prices and rents set by the Department. Any person or family can apply to buy or rent an MIHU, provided their household income does not exceed the maximums listed in the application.
